Comments: A T-score discrepancy exists between L1 and the remaining vertebrae. Focal structural anomalies are evident in L2, L3 and L4 and on plain films appear related to large pedicles. The ISCD currently recommends that lumbar spine bone mass should not be determined on the basis of a single vertebral body and therefore, the entire lumbar spine must be excluded from the final DXA report. The lowest hip T-score was -1.8 in this man with osteogenesis imperfecta type 1 resulting in thoracic spine fractures.
