Comments: Focal structural anomalies clearly affect all vertebrae. The linear L1 anomaly observed on DXA is confirmed as an L1 compression fracture on spine radiographs, which also document an inferior vena cava filter and surgical clips. Despite multiple confounding factors and artifacts in this image, the L1-L4 T-score is -3.1 providing valuable clinical information; therefore all vertebrae are included in the final report. A densitometric diagnosis of severe osteoporosis is warranted if the compression fracture occurred in low-trauma circumstances.
