Comments: A focal structural anomaly prompts exclusion of L4. A narrow horizontal band of high density at the top of a vertebra (L4) may indicate a compression fracture. A horizontal line across right side of the mid portion of L3 ending on the left side with a similar band of high density is suggestive of a fracture of the anterior cortices of L3.  X-rays confirm compression fractures at both L3 and L4.
