Comments: Focal structural anomalies prompt exclusion of L2, L3 and L4. Lumbar spine radiographs demonstrate osteophytes, endplate sclerosis and aortic calcification. The ISCD currently recommends that lumbar spine bone mass should not be determined on the basis of a single vertebral body and therefore, the entire lumbar spine must be excluded from the final DXA report.
